McIntosh Shield

With 7 Rounds now completed all competitions are starting to heat up at both ends of the ladder. After extreme heat conditions throughout the week players were greeted with cooler conditions.

Box Hill North Super Kings took on arch rival East Box Hill. After batting first East Box Hill would post a competitive 9/152 with Damian Yze making a swash buckling 77 not out. The Super Kings were never really threatened with Tom Mitchell 66 not out and Brad Carroll 43 the stars. The Super Kings sit in 3rd position and look in premiership contention.

Bulleen Templestowe now sit on top of the ladder 4-171 after defeating bottom of the ladder Mitcham 9-170cc. Michael Abbott 50, Alex White 40 for the Tigers, while Adrian Tabaccheria 5-21 for the Bullants. Mitcham still remain 6 points clear on the bottom and face the relegation.

Blackburn travelling to Templestowe would only manage 124 with Andrew Hone 5-22 Templestowe in the match, but the brittle Templetowe batting once again was brought undone only managing 8-116cc. Nishidh Sopirawala 42, while Burners stalwart Andrew Steele 4-39 proving the match winner with his experience.

St Davids at home to East Burwood in a very important game to stay in contact with the top four, but also to stay out of the relegation zone they would steam roll East Burwood’s respected batting for a disappointing 109. Chris Jones 51 the only highlight, while Brent Williams 5-15 would be the destroyer. East Burwood struggled to get early breakthroughs with Erilcott and Williams setting the platform with a solid opening stand. Ryan Coutts 27 not out, while Williams 31 not out would see victory from the home team.

Defending Premiers Heatherdale sitting in 9th place in a season they would like to forget so far took on Vermont who were keen to carry on their recent form. After winning the toss Vermont would post 207 with Jarrod Moody 71. Heatherdale could only manage 155 Lachlan Johns 64. Mitchell Rickarby taking 4-30 for the Eagles to inflict more pain for the Dales and putting its finals chances in severe jeopardy.

At home Forest Hill have been the benchmark team to date this season sitting on top of the ladder. Taking on Blackburn South these two teams in the past have had some exciting clashes with this one no different. Winning the toss Forest Hill would be all out for 144, a score well below its standard so far this season. Jarryd Taun-Henderson the only real shining light with 29. The Cobras chasing would lose Captain Steve Alderton early and with the top order rocked at 4/21 the Zebras looked in the box seat. Anthony Giuliano would play a mature innings for 45 and contributions by Seaton Mundy 29 and Steve Vormain 20 not out would get the Cobras over the line in a thriller 9/147 to remain in finals contention and give the Zebras second defeat on the season.

Wilson Shield

Laburnum were hosting Heatherdale in a very important game for both sides. Laburnam after batting first posted 135 with Matt Henderson 35 only managing to bat for 35 overs. James Moye 4-38 for Heatherdale would pass Laburnam at 6-141 to record a victory and remain in finals calculations.

After a win the previous round Kerrimuir United took on the improving Vermont South who have been in good form over recent matches. Vermont South would only make 91 with Dylan Ellis 5-20 the star for United. In reply they would pass the total 4/93 with Ryan Hillias compiling a well made 59 not out. Kerrimuir after a slow start now elevate to third on the ladder.

In the match of the round and living up to it in every way, Blackburn North batting first would only make 129 Ben Davis 37 while with Nick Greenhalf 4-25 for the Nungers. Koonung Heights set about the chase of 129. Christenson would be the only real shining light with wickets regularly falling. Patrao the last out bowled by Luke Macleod with scores tied. Dean Burton 3/32 for the best bowler for the Bulldogs.

Glen Waverley Hawks 9-198cc (Luke Galle 65, Jarrod Greaves 43) would defeat the struggling Mulgrave Wheelers Hill 178 (C.Arnold 57, T.Balaam 53, L.Galle 4-41).

Doncaster hosting Eley Park saw an even contest early with Doncaster 5/108 with 5 overs remaining in its innings managing to score 5-175cc. Late hitting by Josh Waters 42 not out and Mark Albiston 42 defeated a disappointing Eley Park 140 Sam Noble 2/19 . Eley Park who have slumped to the bottom of the ladder making its finals chances extremely difficult.
