The introduction of the General Conduct Incident Report form (GCIR) has been positive thus far. Whilst we don’t want to see unsavoury incidents, it is excellent to see 3 different clubs use the form to cite players in games where there are no official umpires. This has resulted in 3 suspensions, 2 of which took the early guilty plea resulting in no tribunal hearing. This is a clear message that if you want to push the boundaries, you may well be sitting the other side of them. All clubs are encouraged to use the form should they feel the need in games without, or with, official umpires.
