Game One vs RDCA
BHRDCA came into the tri-series on the right note by winning the toss and electing to bat. Kavinga went cheaply for 4 runs at the start of the innings with Costa at the non-strikers end still yet to score. Mathra then came to the crease and started getting runs swiftly before being bowled out for 23. Costa continued his innings but this ended while he was on 37 caught by Tucker from the RDCA. Jordan Wise the captain then came to the crease and steadied the ship while Aaron Walter from Heatherdale also went fairly cheaply on 7. Rob Chancellor from Blackburn earned a steady 21 before also being caught by Tucker from the bowling of Smith. Ben Joseph and Anthony Giuliano finished BHRDCA innings at the end of 20 overs not out for 11 and 3 respectively. Bowling standout stats were J Gilbert with 2/31 from 4 and R Smith with 2/22 from 2, leaving BHRDCA with a total of 157 for their innings.
RDCA then came in to bat with J Tucker earning a rapid half century before being caught by Ben Joseph off the bowling of Wise. Brown and Mitchell both went cheaply at 3 for Brown and a duck for Mitchell before Smith came in to bat with Tucker until he was clean bowled by Aaron Walter for 21, after that Scott was stumped with some very swift glove work from Ratnayake with Killen and Baxter still at the crease getting the winning runs for the RDCA after 17.3 overs bowled. Killen not out on 41 and Baxter not out on 34. Stand out bowling stats were Aaron Walter with 1/9 after 2 overs, who was by far the least expensive bowler, Mitch Fitton from Blackburn South getting a handy 2 wickets for 31 runs after 4 overs and Rob Chancellor getting 0/20 after 3 overs.
Game Two vs ECA
The ECA still sore from their defeat at the hands of the RDCA were next to take on BHRDCA in a shortened 15 overs per side match, winning the toss and electing to bat first. Phillips and Mowat went out for 3 and 9 respectively both being caught off the bowling of Rob Chancellor. Caplikas was next to be caught off the bowling of Spinks with Thomas also getting caught off the bowling of Spinks in the same over for 5. Mitchell was caught for 12 with Spinks taking a great caught and bowled against Pearson for 9. An echidna then wandered into the playing area to help keep the competition nice and prickly before he tucked himself under the fence and up the hill towards his destination and back into hiding!! Hocking then came to the crease and remained there not out for 42 after the 15 overs leaving the ECA at 7/108. Stand out bowling stats were Rob Chancellor with 2/12 after 3 overs, Connor Spinks at 3/18 after 3 overs and Kavinga getting a late scalp ending with 1/14 after 2 overs.
BHRDCA then came into bat with Kavinga and Costa opening, Kavinga getting out cheaply for 1 and Costa then getting caught 2 runs later in the innings for 8 leaving the BHRDCA at 2/9 after the third over. The third wicket of Mathra fell in the next over leaving BHRDCA at 3/20 at the end of the third over. Ben Joseph came to the crease and immediately took to the bowling attack from the ECA, his first runs being a boundary and also hitting two sixes and 4 more boundaries, finally being bowled for 47, that being the highest score of the BHRDCA innings. In the end BHRDCA fell short by only a few runs at 6/105 at the end of the 15 overs. Stand out bowling stats were Musso with 1/10 after 3 overs, White with 2/16 after 3 overs and Barker with 2/17 after 3 overs.
