Our BHRDCA U12 girl’s rep team continued their excellent form to post another win yesterday at Walker Park, Mitcham CC. Rain greeted both teams on arrival at the ground, but that soon cleared up, while a great team of players and parents cleared up the grass clippings that had been left all over the ground after being cut earlier in the morning.

BHRDCA batted first against a much stronger bowling attack than they encountered on Tuesday, but still managed to reach 9/178cc from 30 overs. Bowling and fielding was just as impressive as Tuesday, again taking 22 wickets, of which 8 were direct hit run outs! This helped to restrict North west to 72 runs from their 30 overs, and the girls remain top of the ladder with only two other unbeaten teams.

A bye today will ensure finishing on top, and a home semi final on Monday, at Walker Park, 9am start. Let’s get to the match to cheer them on in their quest to win the Fatone Shield. Recently the contribution of Andy Lambert (BHRDCA Historian), was noted in a presentation from Cricket Australia, for his great work in updating the Associations long History. He has accumulated the results & player records (where obtainable) from every match played >22,000 between 1890/91 and 1970/71. Recording the era between 1971/72 and the commencement of MyCricket (late 2000’s) is underway…

Now uploaded on the BHRDCA Heritage pages > Heritage > Records & Statistics > BHRDCA Records (1890/91 to 1970/71) is Andy’s latest document, which highlights the affiliation history and success of every club in this period as well as the best & worst performances across this significant span of time in competition history.

Enjoy the read and if anybody can offer Scorebooks, Annual Reports or other such records of the pre 1970 era that will add to any missing Association records, don’t hesitate to get in touch with a member of the Heritage Committee (contact details on the Website) or the BHRDCA Admin. Mgr.
